Breakfast at the hotel. You will enjoy a full day city tour visiting some of the most famous and impressive sites as the St. Sophia, a magnificent sample of Byzantine architecture from the 6th century, the Hippodrome, where once spectacular races and games took place, the Blue Mosque, one of the underground cisterns that were built during the Byzantine era.
Free time to enjoy your lunch at one of the local restaurants. Furthermore, we will explore the mazes of the famous Grand Bazaar, offering all kinds of traditionally handicrafted items and jewellery in thousands of shops.

This morning, we will drive along the shores of the Marmara Sea and reach the Dardanelles, a strait dividing the European continent from Asia. Due to its geographical importance, the Dardanelles played an important role throughout history. Alexander the Great crossed here for his great conquest, which resulted in one of the largest Empires known. We will visit the ancient city of Troy, immortal with the tales about the Trojan War and its heroes Achilles and Hector as also the Trojan horse. Overnight (B, D)

Today, we will reach another highlight of our tour: Pergamon. This city was one of the most important cultural centers of its time. After the invention of parchment the city held the largest library in the world.
We will explore the Acropolis to see the steepest amphitheatre in the world that could accommodate 10.000 spectators, the Temple of Athena, the Trajaneum and many more. Continue along the lovely Aegean Coast and arrive at Kusadasi, one of the most famous resorts.

We will visit one of the most amazing cities of the ancient world – Ephesus. This city was one of the most important trade and cultural centers of the world, but also most important for the spread of Christianity. St. Paul visited Ephesus during all of his travels, St. John wrote his bible here, he took Holy Mary to Ephesus after Jesus’ crucification, both of them died here.
During our tour we will see the Harbour street that was illuminated in these times, the magnificent theatre, the Marble Street, the unique Celsus Library, the Hadrian Gate, Agora, Odeon and many more impressive monuments. We will also see the Basilica, which was built by Emperor Justinian for St. John, who had been burried in Ephesus. From here, you can also enjoy a magnificent view over the romantic town of Selcuk and its beautiful Isabey Mosque. One of our other stops will be at the Temple of Artemis, which was one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

Today, we will travel through the Maeandros Valley. Throughout history, this area is know to have been one of the most fertile regions, goods as cotton/cloth, figs, grapes/wine, olive/oil, marble/statues, purple and many others have been exported to all the world since thousands of years.
We will rech Aphrodisias, one of the most impressive ancient sites of Anatolia. The city was dedicated to the goddess of beauty and was famous for its sculpurist school, many known sculptures throughout the former Roman Empire have been produced here. We will see the Tetraphylon, the amazing Stadium, theatre and many more. Our route will continue to Pamukkale, not only a unique natural wonder, where hot thermal springs have covered a hill with chalk and created travertine terraces filled with thermal water, but also the ancient Spa Town of Hierapolis has been built and played an important role throughout history.

Our route continues towards Central Anatolia and along the historical Silk & Spice Route of Antiquity. We will visit one of the many caravanserails, the former road inns built for tradesmen travelling from East to west and vice versa. They transported and exchanged many goods, but this way cultures, news and legends spread as well. We will finally reach an area unique on this globe, Cappadocia. Volcanoes, water, wind and mankind have shaped unique and unbelievable landscapes, fairy chimneys, pinnacles and earth pyramids. Overnight. (B, D)
We will visit Göreme Valley with its famous churches and monasteries showing outstanding decorations and frescoes, but also see famous landmarks as the three Graces, Pasabag, Camel Valley, the lovely town of Uçhisar and many more. We may have the opportunity to see Turkish folklore or a perfomance of the mystical Sufi “Whirling Dervishes”.

This morning our route takes us to Sinassos, a former Greek village and learn about the exchange of Greek and Turks after WWI while admiring the beautiful mansions and romantic alleys. Today, we will also learn about one of the oldest handicrafts of civilization: pottery, being performed in this region since thousands of years. We will also visit Ortahisar and Cavusin, two natural castles, where you can admire fantastic dwellings.
