CITY TOUR IN PANAMA

Breakfast at the hotel.
This day you will enjoy a tour of the city (7 hours approximately). During this tour you will visit Panama La Veja, the first Spanish settlement, founded in 1519 and destroyed in 1671 after an attack by the Pirate Henry Morgan.

In addition, you will visit the colonial vestige known as “Casco Antiguo” on the slopes of Ancon hill. This is where Panama City was rebuilt after the destruction of Panama La Vieja. Casco Antiguo has a pleasant and unique colonial atmosphere and has several attractions that visitors should not miss: the Santo Domingo Church, the beautiful gold-plated altar of the San José Church, the Cathedral Square, the Presidential Palace and many other monuments and churches. You will also visit the Miraflores locks. The ships must pass through these imposing elevators to enter and exit the Panama Canal and it is a fascinating and unforgettable experience to see these steel giants go through the locks. SAN SALVADOR / ATACO

Today’s tour will begin with a visit to Los Volcanes National Park, where the Santa Ana, Izalco and Cerro Verde volcanoes are located. You can climb up to the craters of Santa Ana or Izalco guillada. A natural path of about 2 hours with an incredible view of Lake Coatepeque. Cerro Verde is home to more than 400 types of woodpecker jays, emerald minnows and 17 species of hummingbirds; The park is popular with birdwatchers. It also has an orchid garden, which you can not miss! At the end of the day we go to the coast and spend the night in one of the hotels on the beach. 

From there we are transported to the mountains of the route of the flowers, coffee area famous for the abundance of wild flowers. This route has viewpoints where we can appreciate mountain landscapes with coffee plantations, lagoons and cloud forests. These days are free in the town of Ataco, this town, it is a gateway for the entire artistic community, it is a traditional producer of colorful textiles and artistic murals painted on the walls of colonial style houses. You can rest or you can meet a little more of this city.

WHITE HOUSE / TAZUMAL / ROUTE MAYA

The tour will begin with a visit to the archaeological sites of White House and Tazumal, the most important and impressive Mayan ruins of El Salvador, corresponding to the pre-Classic Mayan period (500 BC – 250 AD) and the classical period (250 AD – 900 AD) . 

In Casa Blanca you can participate in an indigo workshop, which is managed by two trained people, who teach different methods and dyeing materials, you will have the opportunity to dye a handkerchief. In the afternoon there is a visit to Joya de Cerén, which was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1993 because it is the only place in the Mayan culture, where you can appreciate the daily life of the popular lifestyle. pre-Columbian inhabitants. Also called Pompeii of Central America. Jewel of Cerén was buried by several eruptions of volcanoes and the town was found under at least 14 layers of ash. 

The villagers were apparently able to flee in time – the bodies have not been found – even though they left behind utensils, pottery, furniture, and even half-eaten food in their haste to escape.

BARRA DE SANTIAGO

The tour will start in the remote Barra de Santiago on the western coast of El Salvador, it is a national park with estuaries and mangroves behind a sandbar. 

We organize a trip by boat or kayak through the mangroves to observe the biodiversity that inhabits La Barra de Santiago such as sea birds, migratory birds, lizards, marine mammals, sea turtles, crocodiles and blue crabs. We will have the afternoon free to relax on the beach or to visit the marine turtle farms. Overnight (B)
