You can already feel the spirit of the Dakar Rally that will arrive again next year and that will be developed exclusively in Peruvian lands. The Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism Roger Valencia said at a press conference that the 2019 Dakar Rally will be held 100% in Peru and will significantly boost the domestic economy. The minister also said that the event will promote the country’s image internationally; this based on the results obtained in the 2018 edition of the competition during its passage in Peru.

After the conference, the Dakar Tour was held, a meeting that brought together competitors at the Hilton Miraflores Lima Hotel. The participants, organizers and authorities had the opportunity to exchange information and comments on the challenge that awaits them for next year. After the challenge in January 2018, which toured Argentina and Bolivia as well as Peru, European competitors have already resumed certain training activities for the departure date, on January 6, 2019, in Peru.

For now, in South America the events that will give time for the Dakar test are already being planned. In Argentina, registrations have already been opened for Desafío Ruta 40 and in Peru, competitors will be put to test in September, preparing for the challenge they will face in January.
