Muy temprano partiremos de la estaci\u00f3n de tren de Ollanta rumbo a la majestuosa ciudad de Aguas Calientes, el tiempo de viaje es de aproximadamente 01 hora 30 minutos. Arribo a la estaci\u00f3n del poblado de Aguas Calientes, desde aqu\u00ed abordaremos los buses para ascender al Santuario Hist\u00f3rico de Machu Picchu, una de las 7 maravillas del mundo. Una vez en la cima de la escalera rocosa nos encontramos con piqueros de Nazca, piqueros de patas rojas, sinsontes y pinzones que se abren camino a trav\u00e9s de un bosque de palo santo hasta que llegamos a un amplio campo abierto de lava. Nuestro sendero corto y llano nos lleva m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de las extensiones de manglares y robles en los cuales tenemos la mejor apariencia posible para anidar piqueros de patas rojas y grandes fragatas. Nuestro paseo nos lleva por un camino circular, pasando por un lago poco profundo donde los flamencos vienen a alimentarse con frecuencia. Al aterrizar en una playa arenosa, inmediatamente nos distraen los abundantes leones marinos que hay con nosotros. Comenzamos una caminata m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de un bosque de cactus Opuntia gigantes end\u00e9micos de la isla. Aqu\u00ed buscamos otra isla-end\u00e9mica, la iguana terrestre de Santa Fe, m\u00e1s p\u00e1lida que sus primos en otras islas. Los halcones de Gal\u00e1pagos e incluso las ratas de arroz end\u00e9micas tambi\u00e9n son cosas a las que hay que prestarle
