According to the Autonomous authority of Colca during the first 4 months of the year 2019, attractions such as the Mirador del Cóndor, religious architecture, culture and natural attractions received 63,541 visitors.
One of the months with the highest number of visits, which included the Easter holiday was April, where 20,115 tourists visited Colca and other natural attractions of the region.
The figures published by AutoColca for the first quarter of this year 2019 are similar to those of 2018 but are expected to increase in the coming months. Therefore, it is desired to promote tourism at the regional and national levels.
In the recent designation of the Colca and Andagua volcanoes as a UNESCO geopark as well as the inclusion in the Global Network of Geoparks, it is expected that these appointments encourage visits to tourist sites in Arequipa and Colca.
It is important to emphasize that we are facing the first geopark in our country. Also, it is important to rescue the information that the Colca Valley is the most important attraction of the Arequipa region, and received more than 300,000 visitors in 2018.
