Peru’s Southern-Andean city of Cusco It was chosen as the best destination according to 2019 TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice.
Located in position 23, Cusco is the only South American location featured on the list.
“Incan majesty and Andean baroque exist side-by-side in Cusco’s stone streets, epitomized by the Qoricancha Palace and the Church of Santo Domingo flanking the Plaza de Armas (Main Square),” the world’s largest travel site expressed.
“In this high-altitude melting pot of Amerindian and mestizo culture, you’ll find extraordinary textiles, lively summer festivals and archeological wonders,” it underlined.
Furthermore, Cusco City leads the ranking of Top 25 Destinations in South America, followed by Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Cartagena (Colombia), and Gramado (Brazil), among others.
Meanwhile, Lima holds the 6th position, followed by Urubamba (18th), Arequipa (23rd), and Machu Picchu (25th).
