Holy Week approaches and offers a great opportunity to live unique experiences, one of the destinations chosen on this occasion is the Citadel of Chan Chan in the region of La Libertad as it is considered one of the most important archaeological relics of Peru.
An indisputable stop in the northern region is the Citadel of Chan Chan, the capital of the Chimu Kingdom.
In the 20 square kilometers of Ciudadela we will find temples, walls adorned with figures in polychrome reliefs of the Chimu Culture, squares, deposits that were used to store handicrafts and metallurgy and funerary platforms.
In the Chimu culture, the walled complex of Nik An where ceremonial rituals were performed in tribute to their dead leaders stands out for its majestic architecture, said archaeologist Victor Piminchumo.
In October 2018, new wood sculptures that date back 750 years were presented, along with a decorated wall discovered in the walled complex of Utzh An.
