Inauguration of a new tourist circuit in Chan Chan

The Chan Chan Archaeological Complex has inaugurated a new tourist circuit that facilitates access to the walled complex Nik An, also known as Tschudi Palace, one of the most outstanding and visited sectors of this ancient pre-Hispanic city.

The initiative is part of the project to improve tourist services at Chan Chan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986. The new circuit seamlessly connects three key areas of the complex: the Site Museum, Huaca Toledo and Nik An.

As a result of this integration, visitors can tour and visit these attractions on their own, which contributes to reducing the environmental impact and improving the experience.

Apart from the structural improvements, new informative and interpretative signage has also been implemented with the aim of promoting learning for both Peruvians and foreigners. Chan Chan will also become a space for learning and appreciation of the cultural legacy.

The Ministry of Culture informed that this work will benefit approximately 614,000 visitors a year, representing a significant investment aimed at consolidating the northern circuit of the country. It also seeks to boost tourism, the local economy and strengthen the cultural identity of the region of La Libertad.

Therefore, the opening of this new circuit means the efforts to conserve and disseminate the heritage of Chan Chan, promoting cultural and educational tourism.
