According to the last profile of foreign tourists interested in Cultural Tourism, the cities most frequented by foreign vacationers are Cusco, Puno, Arequipa, Ica and Lima.
The research data show that more than one million tourists carried out cultural activities. In addition, the Board of Promotion of Exports and Tourism (PromPeru) states that this flow has increased by 7% compared to 2015.
85% of tourists came to the south of our country specifically to the city of Cusco in search of cultural experiences, attracted by the culture of the navel of the world, the Inca empire and the citadel of Machu Picchu.
On the other hand, 31% of the visitors visited Puno Alto Andino to marvel at the mystic Lake Titicaca to be able to relate to the communities that inhabit the popular floating islands.
The regions of Arequipa and Ica occupy the third position among the cultural destinations preferred by foreign tourists, representing 21% of the stays in each case.
The White City dazzles for its architectural beauty built in volcanic rock called sillar located in the historic center, the magic of the Colca Valley and the communities a strong cultural heritage are the main representatives of Arequipa.
And on the side of Ica, Paracas and Nazca have attracted the attention of tourists due to the development of cultures in the southern territory.
