The second stop on the Full Day tour is an extinct volcano located in the southeast of the island and contains a surprising crater with fresh water inside. Rano Raraku is undoubtedly one of the most important archeological sites in the world since it is the point where the legendary moai statues were carved. Ahu Akahanga the third site on the full day tour is a splendid ceremonial and housing site containing a variety of ancient structures including fallen or vertically placed statues on its platform. In total, the site contains thirteen statues (moai) and eight headdresses (pukao). Ahu Te Pito Kura is an archaeological site containing the largest moai carved and erected on a ceremonial platform, weighing 90 tons and a height of about 9.45 meters (30 feet).
