Peru won at the 2025 World Travel Awards with four awards
At the 2025 World Travel Awards (WTM) ceremony held on 27 September in Cancun, our country once again stood out, receiving recognition as ‘Best Destination in the Region’, as well as awards in gastronomy, culture and tourist attractions.
For the second consecutive year, Peru has consolidated its position as a comprehensive destination. According to the organisers, it is ‘a country that inspires and remains in the memory’. These awards reinforce and consolidate the destination as an example of tourism diversity.
At the WTA South America 2025, Peru won four awards: Best Destination in South America, Best Culinary Destination, Best Cultural Destination and Best Tourist Attraction with Machu Picchu.
These awards reflect the choice and preference of both foreign tourists and industry specialists. Beyond its landscapes, Peru offers a range of experiences that combine history, living culture, gastronomy and hospitality.
The World Travel Awards, created in 1993, have become a global benchmark for excellence in the tourism industry.
The voting process is participatory, involving citizens, travellers and industry professionals alike. To participate, simply register on the official website, confirm your account by email and choose your nominees. This mechanism democratises the selection process and reflects not only the views of experts, but also the experiences and opinions of visitors themselves.
