Peru’s Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism announced that the country will host the 128th Session of the UN Tourism Executive Council
The renowned British National Geographic magazine dedicated to travelers has launched its latest edition in which it explores the Peruvian Andes, Amazonia and our renowned Gastronomy.
The publication rescues the trek “Lares Trek”, the route joins archeological sites and traditional communities as it crosses the Southern Andes. This is an alternative to the Inca Trail of Machu Picchu.
“Like the Inca Trail, Lares Trek is not so much a single route as a network of trails through the Sacred Valley, with almost infinite configurations.”
In addition to the extraordinary cover, it deepens the scope of the ‘warriors of the cloud’ in the Amazon region.
“In the Amazon region of northern Peru, Chachapoyas cloud warriors honored their dead with villages of chullpas, multi-story mausoleums built high from the mountains”.
On the other hand, there is talk about the Imperial City of Cusco, which it describes as a place where Inca and Andean baroque architecture meet.
The attractions cited include the main square of Cusco in the historic center, the San Pedro market, the sacred site of Qoricancha, the fortress of Sacsayhuaman and food. In addition, another attraction to highlight is the impressive Rainbown Mountain . “It is worth climbing the last meters to get better views over the heads of other hikers.”
It is recommended to those who still have energy to walk a short distance to visit the Red Valley. And other pages are dedicated to the archeology of Peru, Pisco (the country’s flagship drink) and gastronomy.
