The award was held in Singapore where the list of the best 50 in the world was revealed and “Central” remained in sixth place at the balloon level and was ratified as the Best Restaurant in Latin America.
Chefs Pía León and Virgilio Martínez in charge of Central were those who took the stand and received the award, while Maido, headed by Chef Mitsuharu “Micha” Tsumura with the specialty of nikkei food, ranked 10th.
The title of the best restaurant in the world 2019 was taken by the Mirazur Restaurant in France, directed by the Argentine chef Mauro Colagreco, followed by Noma (Denmark), Asador Etxebarri (Spain), Gaggan (Thailand) and Geranium (Denmark).
In the 2018 award ceremony, three Peruvian restaurants were within the world’s 50, Astrid & Gastón (39), Maido (7) and Central (6).
