With the World’s Leading Culinary Destination award, Peru makes the difference in the gastronomy industry: it was elected for nine years in a row as the world’s best culinary destination. This award is well-deserved since the Peruvian food stands-out around the world due to its unique tastes and millenary preparations that are even from the Pre-Colonial era. The World’s Leading Cultural Destination award confirmed that the historical richness and cultural legacy offered by the south America country is valued around the world. There is not a spot in Peru where there is no culture, thus, it is the preferred destination of the lovers of indigenous people, community tourism, history, and tradition.
At the same time, the Historical Sanctuary of Machupicchu obtained the World’s Leading Tourist Attraction award after a second-time consecutive voting. The last time the Cuzco treasure obtained the award was in 2019 because the organization cancelled the event during 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
