
The 2026 whale-watching season begins in northern Peru

Peruvian Gastronomy highlight in the seventh edition of Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants. Maido – a Japanese Peruvian fusion was awarded with the first place for the third consecutive years. In addition, the second place was taken by the Central Restaurant belonging to Chef Virgilio Martinez.
The award was not only for two Peruvian restaurants, the list included other restaurants such as Oso (Position 9), Isolina (Position 12), Astrid and Gaston (Position 13), Rafael (Position 19), Kjolle (Position 21 °), La Mar (Position 26 °), Mil (Position 36 °), Mayta (Position 49 °) and Malabar (Position 48 °).
On the other hand, the Peruvian Miguel Schiaffino was awarded with the American Express Icon Award 2019. Highlighting the importance of being a Chef, having important participation as a conservationist and anthropologist who has been dedicated to maintaining and promoting the historical ecosystems of the Amazon.
