Peruvian agro-exports (traditional and non-traditional) totalled US$ 1,736 million 438 thousand in the first two months of this year, obtaining a growth of 30% compared to the same period in 2021, with the leading market being the US, according to the Association of Exporters (ADEX).
According to Susana Yturry Farge, manager of Agroexports of the business association, the signing of trade agreements was fundamental for the evolution of these dispatches, particularly those of added value, as well as the work of the National Agricultural Health Service (Senasa), in order to lift sanitary and phytosanitary barriers.
He revealed that companies must also develop trade strategies in order to reach more international buyers. He mentioned participation in trade missions to Chile, Spain and Mexico and fairs such as Thaifex (Thailand), Biofach (Germany) and the Expoalimentaria (EA) fair in Peru.
“Expoalimentaria is the most important commercial window in Latin America, where exhibitors will have the opportunity to crystallise business, increase their network of contacts, and also update their knowledge on key issues related to the food and beverage chain, machinery, packaging, technology, and foreign trade services,” he emphasised.
